Sensational Quote Sunday

Some books change your life. They change the way you see the world. They do this not only with the story as a whole, but sometimes with an idea, a beautiful phrase, or even a word, that resonates with you the way nothing has before.

Sensational Quote Sunday is my way of paying homage to those books that remind me every day why I love reading.

Friend

I’m feeling a little nostalgic today. I’m leaving the incredible people at Fullers Bookshop, and moving interstate to take up an opportunity in the publishing industry.

Big changes. Good changes, but scary nonetheless.

So as I leave, I’m reminiscing about how much fun I’ve had working at Fullers and being a part of this community. Hemingway may say there is no friend as loyal as a book. I think booksellers do a pretty darn fine job of it. My colleagues at Fullers have been absolutely wonderful, I’ve been so lucky to work with them.

I’m finding it really hard to leave, even though I know it’s a necessary – and ultimately, fantastic – change.

So here’s to those people who make it their business to be better friends than you deserve!
